Jump to Epiphany Saratoga Directing Development ProgramFounded in 1999, Epiphany Theater Company provides a supportive and professional home for early career theatre artists. Because these talented and trained artists are early in their careers, they are frequently without the artistic and managerial support that more experienced artists consider basic. We maintain two rehearsal studios and provide our artists with a variety of opportunities to hone their skills and participate in professional productions. Many of our actors have gone on to perform on and off-Broadway; our directors work at theater companies around New York including Primary Stages, The Lark Theatre Company, Dance Theatre Workshop, MCC and New Georges; and our writers are seeing their work published and produced around the country. In addition to the production season, Epiphany has a variety of programs designed to nurture emerging artists. The Director Development department strives to support early career directors through the Reactionaries - Directors program for directors who recently received a degree in directing. This ten-year program encourages directors as they take their first steps in the professional world. As a participant in the Reactionaries - Directors program, you will find Epiphany committed to being your artistic home for ten full years. For the first five years, you will meet once a month for workshops and forums to discuss career choices with working professionals, share and receive information about directing opportunities, and participate in workshops that keep your skills sharp. For the second five years, meetings will be less frequent and will focus on developing collaborations, disseminating information about opportunities, and directing workshops. To keep the program running, participants will pay a yearly $25 fee. Applications are due July 1st, 2008. Any questions regarding the Reactionaries - Directors Program should be directed to Melissa Shaw, Head of Director Development, at melissa@epiphanytheater.org.
